Childhood Homes of Lennon & McCartney
The National Trust looks after two suburban houses in Merseyside, 20 Forthlin Road and Mendips. These unassuming houses are the childhood homes of two Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
Visiting the Beatles houses in Liverpool is an absolute must for fans of the band of any ages. The tours provide a real insight in to Lennon and McCartney's humble beginnings. Beatles tours are available from February to November and get booked up quickly.
Mendips - John Lennon's Childhood Home
A combined escorted tour of Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road, the childhood homes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, is your only opportunity to see where the Beatles met, composed and rehearsed many of their earliest songs. Imagine walking through the back door into the kitchen where John's Aunt Mimi would have cooked him his tea, or standing in the spot where Lennon and McCartney composed 'I Saw Her Standing There'. Join our custodians on a fascinating trip down memory lane, and take a moment to reflect on these incredible individuals

There is no direct access by car or on foot. Visits are by combined minibus tour only with Mendips, the childhood home of John Lennon (charge including National Trust members). Any photography inside 20 Forthlin Road or duplication of audio tour material is strictly prohibited. You will be asked to deposit handbags, cameras and recording equipment at the entrance to the house
